Auto screen shut-off w/ shutter release?

I didn't get much response to this question on another forum, so I thought I would try you guys.

I have just noticed that my new K5IIs turns both screens off when the shutter release is pressed. Maybe its me, but I didn't notice this on either K10 or K7? Is this new? ...an option? ....or do I have a problem?

Thanks

Tony

I do not have a IIs, but on my Classic the back screen goes dark on shutter press, the top LCD still shows a display but backlite turns off.
