If you could see the EXIF data
Just looking at all the stage lighting tells me there was an abundance of light. In just about every shot I can see about a dozen lights - up above, behind, in front etc. That's a lot. Luxury.

On the subject of EXIF, why doesn't tonedeaf supply EXIF in it's images? The individual pix in the image galleries in the theaureview.com (the local gigs site I find the most interesting) often still retain their EXIF, esp from their most prolific photogs (Johnny Au, Gwendolyn Lee etc). It's been useful to see how other shooters with D4s, 5D3s etc, even the odd K30, work in gigs.

There are many times I shoot at ISO6400-10000 and I can make it look like an abundance of lighting, but there isn't.

Those look great! Nice work. Looks like it was a paid gig, yes? Love the fisheye of the exuberant crowd and the one with the light coming through between the bass (6 string bass, I think?) player's arm and body. Lots of nice shots!

Listening to them on Spotify now for some background; pretty good!
Paid in as much as I get a free ticket. That is all.
And yes, Karnivool are pretty impressive musicians. Even those who don't get metal can appreciate them.

My latest set

Here is a link to my latest set. I shoot mostly local bands...not a whole lot of mainstreamers come through Erie, PA so you gotta make due! The main problem i have with the camera though is that my editing time has increased due to so many dam photos being in focus!

These were taken with the Pentax K-5 IIs and the Pentax-F 50mm f/1.7 and the Pentax-F 28mm f/2.8.

Tell that to the II/IIs naysayers!
I have the same "problem", but I have actually decreased my editing time by taking fewer shots because I am now so much more confident in the output from the K-5IIs. I now have about 50% keepers, rather than 10-15% in days gone by. Part of that may be improved technique, but the new AF system has to take some credit.

I've been following this thread silently for a while... Anyway, I ended up meeting Jimbob Productions at this event earlier in the year and he lent me his FA*80-200 for a few shots since I didn't have anything of such focal lengths with me at the time. I think it was also World Pentax day, but I wasn't expecting to run into a Pentaxian let alone be able to test out a new lens!

Both with the K-5 + FA* 80-200

Just like Sandy, I also contribute to Tone Deaf. I take both K5 and K5iis with me. Here are a few -

K-5 iis + DA* 16-50

Bastille - Link to full gallery (3 songs, no flash)

I've been trying to use the DA 10-17 Fisheye more, when lighting permits! Shot with the K-5.

I Am The Riot - Full gallery (no song limit)

K-5 iis + FA77

Alesana - Full gallery (no song limit)

For another site.
K-5 + DA* 16-50

Thin Lizzy (with original and new members - they toured here with KISS) Click for full gallery (3 songs, no flash)

Interesting. It's been many years since I last saw a Pentax shooter at any local gig.
