I attempted with TAv 1/30 F4 800, and it just did not look right, the white ground and the "tree" were completely blown out and the rest was dull and lifeless...
Leon, I love TAv but it does present a few problems at times...like selecting too high an ISO value. Try it by backing down the EV a stop and shoot f5.6 and see what happens? It is easy to push up a half stop or even more if you are already close.

Thanks Rupert, hopefully you can get some of the protesters safely removed.
Some chained themselves to the trees, but when I put peanuts out on the cedar fence they broke loose in record time!

Regards!

1/30 F4 800 ISO is Ev 6 and 1/30 F8 200 ISO is Ev 10. It isn't the same exposure.
I prefere Av mode and Auto-ISO (I have set ISO on the rear e-dial in case I want to change it). With F4 100 ISO you would have 1/60 for Ev 10.

Hi,

Thanks FS and Rupert.
I usually have problems in poor lighting situations.

Love the Moth, and the Spider.

I am amazed and impressed with the postal service, 2 days for delivery from Germany, usually takes 3-4 days to get from one side of the County to the other...

The Lens has arrived, cameras communicate with it, the aperture works, it focuses, albeit slowly.
Wide open at 18 and 35mm is stunning, I am amazed with the clarity and colours.
First two are 1.8, second is 2.8, seriously impressed.

Cheers

Leon

Loved all of those FS.....the blooms in particular and that little spider is fantastic! That's a great Pentax shot! Best I've see, and I've seen a lot!

I guess Otis missed the spider, or it was too little to worry him?

Lovely shots Leon! I look forward to more with that new lens. Some close up work too?

Hope you do! You are most welcome here!

Cold wet and rainy here.....ISO 6400 light. Doesn't slow down the damn squirrels!

"Look, there is one peanut left for me!"

Thanks FS and Rupert,
Yes, there is going to be lots more, I bought this mainly for Astro work, but close ups are a definite possibility.
I agree FS, a 35-70 f1.8 would be wonderful.

siva.ss, please do the more, the merrier.

Cheers

Leon

Look forward to them! Stay away from squirrels....we already have too many around here!

The early morning gloom and rain doesn't slow them down at all.

Regards!

Thanks! So right, and her pies are superb!

Rain for three days, cold, wet and soggy, dark and ugly.

Squirrels use their tails for umbrellas....

Rain or not...they never stop eating!

Birdies have to eat too...

Regards.......Time to go put out a little for the raccoons on this cold wet night.
