#2-3-11-&12 ...the others are probably excellent too, but Otis hogged the screen and wouldn't let me look at anything else just now.

Of course, #2 was his very favorite! He loves that little birdie! He liked #11 for the fine peckerhead gravy it would make.....

Yep, you definitely earned this one!

Been missing these little Spanish doves...don't know where they went? Shot this single one this afternoon.....rare to get 1/400 f8 and ISO 800 around here this time of year.

Regards!

You're welcome...now that I have viewed all of them, that #10 is spectacular too!

Otis nuts are a little large to fit in that little crevice...but doves are not bright enough to know that!

FS???? What species is that little gorgeous yellow birdie? Otis want to enter him on the Protected Species list. Very few birdies get in that list!

Regards!

Number 2 and 12 is same specie !

It's a Blue Tit, Parus Caeruleus. I have a lot of them here, if Otis wants, I can send him a specimen, but not for gravy !!!

Wonderful birds, FS, and I loved the chilly roadway as well, and the flowers.

Otis is right, but then has he ever been known to be wrong?

Thanks for the info FS....wonderful shots of fantastic little birdies! Otis declines the offer, he says he has enough on his paws keeping the little blind orphan squirrels fed and clothed...but the thanks you anyhow!

We have to remember....it is Otis that makes that claim, I just pass it along as instructed. It's sort of like those ads that promise you will lose 10 pounds in two days with their magic diet pills.....but the fine print says "results may vary".

I have this sneaking suspicion that with Otis, his results may vary?...but I would never tell him that!

Regards!

Still only one of these little Spanish doves is showing up around here? I asked Otis if he knew why and his reply was "They make damn good gravy."

I guess that explains it.

Nice dove, Rupert! Hope Otis doesn't make gravy of him. I finished a bit of overdue work that had become something of a burden, the weather was nice and I thought I should take my FA 43, which I'd neglected for a long time out. While sitting in a cafe I fell into conversation with two pleasant young people about photography. They had a Nikon, wanted to know about the polarizing filter on my lens and one thing led to another. I rarely take photos of this kind, so it was fun.

Nice dove, Rupert!
Thanks!

Those are nice shots, the 43Ltd is a great people shooter! When I had my little downtown studio it was one of my most favorite of two lenses most used, the other being the DA* 50-135. Just a really superb lens.
You should do more of that type of shooting, it gets to be habit forming and is very rewarding!

Regards!

I had so much fun in here it should have been illegal....heck, maybe it was!

Thanks for the encouragement and the link, Rupert. I remember some of your older postings of studio work with pleasure. Photography is one of those hobbies (and professions) that breeds a kind of contagious enthusiasm. I'm sure there are grumpy and unpleasant photographers out there, but it's surprising just how many people like sharing their enthusiasm. I was in Yosemite years ago and I saw a professional with an old- fashioned Ansel Adams style view camera. I was thrilled when he let me get under the hood and look at the inverted image on the focusing screen.

JVA...We all strive to shoot like FS, but few of us make it on a regular basis. It's OK, we still find joy in our shooting. Anyhow, Otis says FS cheats......How so Otis? ..."He takes great shots and you don't Rupert...he should be ashamed."

Regards!

Rained hard this dark morning....so how low can you go handholding the Bigma to get the ISO down?

1/80 6.3 ISO 2000 @500mm

She's wet enough for gravy.....just add a little flour and grease and you have it!
