Yeah, there are a lot of young ones this year! Otis has been a busy boy!

Shot this one this morning...so hard to nail the focus using MF. The Bigma is not a good lens to MF, in particular when the aperture control on my K5IIs is broken and the Bigma only shoots wide open. Not much room for mistakes.

Regards!

#5 is a Canon captured by a Pentax. It's almost poetic; kind of brings a tear to my eye.

I loved all of those FS...in particular that dove...you might have noticed...I like doves!

Otis, well FS, not so much......you continue to needle him with that Canon stuff.....you know how he hates Canon, says Canon shooters are rude and arrogant and can't shoot squirrels worth a flip. (Except he doesn't use "flip")

He did make it clear that everything else was superb!

Don't feel bad...I got a reprimand for shooting Otis with an old "A" lens that gave him ugly bokeh. He was very irritated!

He said he is going to keep an eye on us and expects better.

Regards!

Cross posted from Nik free download thread.

Just tried my new free Nik software out on a shot from St Augustine trip. The Silver Effects plugin is cool... this is the High Contrast High Structure I think they called it.

Good old K5 Classic, Tamron 17-50mm f2.8 @ ISO 80, 50mm, 320th, F7.1, handheld and I just put it on motor drive and counted off the 5 second canon fuse and laid on the shutter.

The funny thing is, the first frame got the shot, and all the subsequent shots were too late. Go figure...

For what it's worth, I notice that a lot with the motor drive. I have much better keeper rate if I use my eyes and ears to catch the shot, rather than put on the motor drive and spray and pray. Spray & pray usually gets me the nose or tail of the object I'm trying to get in the frame.

Fun stuff!
Eric

Nice capture! I've been a Nik fan for a while. So much so that I actually paid for Silver Efex years ago.

Zeiss Planar is kind of a funny name for such a cute kid...
Joking aside, that is a great moment captured, and that lens looks like a performer!
