Another lesson in always having your camera on hand. I'm down at the Tacoma waterfront this evening, hear a loud rush of air to my left, and here goes this whale cruising by. clickclickclickclick....

Well done Richard. Looks like you had to crop quite a bit but nice find.

Thank you, indeed I did. I was shooting with the DA* 60-250 but didn't zoom all the way. I just cropped to make it easier for people. Sure was an exhilarating experience, one we all hope we're ready for.

No whale tonight, but I always enjoy shooting ducks. Always moving, challenging me. This is handheld at 250mm with the DA* 60-250.

Taking the kids safely over the rollers. And just off shore a bit, the seals were gathering.

A shot from a vineyard

This is a 2 image stack of a vineyard close to my office.
Taken with the Pentax K-5 IIs and the DA 18-55mm lens. Shot at F11 and ISO 80

Wat Lok Molee , Chiang Mai.

Wat Lok Moli (Thai: วัดโลกโมฬี, sometimes also seen written as Wat Lok Molee) is a Buddhist temple (Thai language:Wat) in Chiang Mai, northern Thailand. The temple is situated on the north side of the north moat surrounding the old part of the city, about 400 meters west of the Chang Phuak city gate.

A lucky catch with my Sigma 100-300mm f/4 APO EX DG - my K7 wouldn't have been able to focus, let alone deliver the low noise like this @ ISO 3200:

I'm still learning this wonderful camera (K5IIs), but I am more and more impressed with it every time I use it.

Nicely done Digitalis. And Toni, no need to apologise. Most of us here aren't pros either. The forum is about sharing experiences rather than proving our skills. Your capture looks fine. Glad to see you're enjoying the K-5 IIs.
