Lovely shot!A bird you don't have to feed ....I like that!

FS...First..those are superb, as usual, but #5 is spectacular. The bokeh is to die for!

Now for some serious talk.....I am sort of worried about little FS, he just eats and eats, and at about 8-9 weeks old, he is already getting too heavy and in spite of his youth, he is running off much older and larger squirrels from the feeder box. He just gets on it (or in it!) and hogs away until it is empty.
Any advice I might use to slow him down?

Best Regards!

You can see...he's putting on the weight...by the hour!

I don't want to worry FS about his namesake squirrel...little FS...so I put the Newbie squirrels on a fruit diet today.

Little FS seems plenty happy to see some fresh fruit!

He liked the delicious cool taste of a chilled apple on this very hot day.

Still smiling, he asked if I had more...and I did!

Regards!

Thanks FS! We gotta keep little FS in good shape...who knows....he might be a great leader of the Army of Squirrels someday?

Regards!

Otis said I could post a couple of late evening birdies...but just a couple.....

This one was shot on my "Cheater branch".

You can see where it meets the tree trunk that it is just screwed on there. Hey...I don't mind cheating, that's how I got Mrs Rupert almost 50 years ago...told her I was rich and "well equipped"...I only half lied!

Reds are so hard to shoot!

Lost the detail on this one...but it makes a nice watercolor.

Best Regards!

No...back then I had never heard of Pentax....anyhow all she heard was "rich"! Later I had to explain that I was waiting for my ship to come in...and now I tell her it was lost at sea!

FS.....I have little FS on a training program to keep his weight down. I make him go out on the cheater branch that is held on by a single screw....if it breaks he can't eat for a day or until he exercises off the weight.

You can see, he is a little anxious looking, but it held him today so he can pig out again!

Go on! Get out on that branch or no food for you!

OK...you passed!

Got to keep little FS in shape so he can one day lead the Army of Otis into battle against pesky birds that rob!

Like this one...Jays are born robbers.

Regards!
