I just don't trust Ebay enough for filters...
So, I'll try to source a Kenko / Hoya Pro1D from a store elsewhere in Europe
I have bought all my filters from ebay 59€ from GB. The most important is to see if it is original material and pay with paypal to have your money back if something goes wrong...

FS....No one wants the wrath of Otis, and I have learned that if I refer to birdies as "gravy" it sets much better with him. As in "That is some nice blue gravy". Or red gravy etc. Just sayin......you might want to try it. Angry birds are no match for angry squirrels!

#8 & #10 are wonderful! #8 would make some very creamy gravy!

Regards!

I liked all of the above but the woodpecker peeking up out of the weeds (#5) is just priceless, completely stole the show for me.

I wanted to comment on that one too...but Otis hates Woodies with a passion.....one once drilled a small hole in his head while he was sleeping and he hasn't been the same since.

I got another chance at the male Cardinal on the Cheater Branch this evening.....much better at lower ISO and faster speed.

ISO 2500 @1/250

This one at ISO 1600 @ 1/200 is half decent!

I only posted them for the potential gravy they could make.

Regards!

I liked this bokeh...

But I liked this bird better...

So I moved him to his new bokeh home. Yep, I cheated. Otis said it made him proud of me!

It matters! Thanks! Otis said it wasn't a perfect job, but it was good enough to fool the little blind orphan squirrels!

Thanks FS!....Otis is pleased that we are finally seeing these disgusting winged creatures for their only real value.

Tonight ...brown gravy! Goes well with either roast possum or raccoon!

I'm with Otis on this one. Nothing against tweaking things a bit until they are just so. Awesome end result with dreamy bokeh and knife-sharp feather features. Color is also beautiful!

What is Otis' postion on spiders? The end of the afternoon over here and this little guy caught my eye in my back yard. Still have a Tamron 90mm/f2.8, the very first AF version but IMHO easily the sharpest of all three versions which Tamron released over the years. On one of these shots I had to up the ante and go to ISO3200 to keep camera-shake under control. Tribute to the K-5 IIs really.

Well, we differ on spiders Mikey.....Otis hates them and I love them. Spiders are magnificent creatures and I am well known for loving spider shots.

Those are some excellent shots, and I hope you will continue to shoot and post spiders, even if it ticks Otis off. If you have noticed...most everything ticks Otis off except handsome squirrels. We just can't worry about Otis all the time, he needs to learn to accept that squirrels are not the only creatures on earth worth posting.

Regards!

Mikey.....Otis did want me to mention to you that spiders do not make good gravy, and some can kill you......he was "just sayin'".

This would make good gravy but needs to be washed well first since it is a little grainy.

I asked Otis to take a look at your spiders and this is his response.....like I said, he hates spiders, so don't take it personal. He doesn't like me all that much either most of the time.

Regards!

Thanks FS! Where are your shots...Otis is waiting? He's hoping you post more handsome squirrels but will admire most anything you post. I told him you may be taking a little break to go out looking for those squirrels, and he got real excited about that!

I do love these little Spanish Doves, in real life they are even more contrasty than in photos....they hardly look real, but they are!

Just more gravy, that seems to be all I shoot lately. Going on a short vacation soon, maybe I will get something new and different.... I sure hope so!

Regards!
