Vert nice shots Dakight and Mikey.
Love that Spider

Rupert, nice gravy, and tell Otis to keep up the good work

FS Cool church, and the Moon is really amazing
I'll take a look at Ebay this week. There is nothing here in Europe either cheapo, or ludicrously expensive

Cheers

All lovely shots but my vote would go towards nrs. 2, 4, 7 and 9

That moon almost has a 3D feel to it and those beautiful streaky clouds on the windmill long exposure add bags of atmosphere.

Dakight......."Here's a rosebud in my front yard this morning"

That is a lovely rosebud! Beautifully processed!

Thanks Ravenspurn! Otis does like his gravy!

FS....#3 #9 and #10 hit my hot spot, but they all get high marks......Otis hasn't made any comment yet...he's still looking for a squirrel shot in the mix?

Here on Labor Day, Otis wanted to give a few lessons on how to relax in style this holiday.

First get comfortable in a nice location...

Then stretch out and relax those tired muscles!

Or find a nice shade tree with a sloping branch...

Then just hang out for a while and enjoy!

Otis sends his regards to all the hard workers of the world on this Labor Day!

Thanks Leon!

Here is a little something I found on Flickr that might be useful for minor touch-up work. It's a low lever editor and can make some minor adjustments to images you have posted there.

Try it and have a little fun seeing what you can do. I sometimes find that after an image gets on FLickr it looks a little dark or light or in need of some other minor adjustment.....this may help without having to delete and re-upload.

They also have a new upload drag and drop tool, but I haven't installed it yet. Maybe I will today and see how it works?

Flickr seems to be in constant flux...sometimes parts of it works nicely, and at other times some parts don't work at all. Let's hope they can get it all together and make it a better place to host our shots.

Meanwhile, Otis has a team of investigative squirrels out searching for the factory where FS manufactures his shots. He is certain there is a factory somewhere that can turn out such fine work in such short order...every day or two. Once he finds it he will take it over and start posting them here as his own, after all, he will own the factory!

Regards!

Cool, thanks Rupert.

Here's a couple of pics I just took from the balcony tonight.
Not great, but they have changed out the streetlights to those low energy lamps that throw light out everywere (that's the glow you can see on the right hand side).

Cheers

Leon

That's pretty neat lighting.....almost like an aurora?

Here is one I shot this afternoon...I have no idea what this is. Not a Spanish dove and not a Whitewing dove...maybe a mix? The light was strange and I had to work it hard to get anything out of it.

Mixed gravy?

Regards!

It looks like it could be a Eurasian Collared dove that has been molting but I'm not sure. Nice bird anyway.

Great capture!!

Thanks We've got a really nice Aurora Borealis right now.
I have a cold, so only spent 10 mins in the park across the road.
Here a few of the pics:

I read up on those and they are gaining numbers in Texas as an invasive species. It does look very similar, and if molting,it could be one for sure. I noticed it is aggressive toward the other birds, unlike the little Spanish doves that are very docile. It ran off tow big Jays, which is unusual. Thanks for the info!

Those are some wonderful shots, very interesting too! Where are you located that has such sights? Love that last shot for the perspective it gives!

Thank you! Otis likes any kind of bird gravy, it's just how he is. He gets pretty jittery when we talk about squirrel gravy.

Hi Rupert,

Thanks for the kind words. I am working on some of the others I took, but it's slow going

I am 65° 50'N 21° 42'E
Just a couple of miles south of a Arctic circle in Northern Sweden.

Invasive species are not good, Maybe have a chat with Otis

Cheers

Superb shots Rupert and Leon ! Those auroras are fantastic !

For Otis : I have tens of factories all over the world. If you find one with a bitten apple, you can take it over

Thank you for the tip Rupert ! Sad that it doen't work with a Stylish style active... Must look why...

Thanks FS!
Otis says he is going to find your factories and start selling your photos to the rest of us here so we can post them as our own. He says that way you can retire and get some rest and we can take all the credit for your work........sounds like a good deal for everyone?

Off for a few days rest myself...maybe I can get some shots of something other than birds and squirrels the next few days?

Best Regards!

....just got a note from Otis, he says he has confiscated some of your shots and wants to sell them......I'm going to try one just to see if it is so? He wants $12. each, and that sounds like a bargain to me........he says everyone can "trust Otis". Seems I've heard that before......
We'll see when I get back.

Thanks FS.
Much appreciated.

I really need some better glass, the DA AL is good, but not great, time to go hunting for manual lenses again.
The Taks are really good, but I would prefer something with a K mount in the 14-20mm f/2 range.

Cheers

Leon
