Thanks FS! It looks like Holiday bokeh, doesn't it? Here is one more I shot this evening with the new background leaves.

Now that I have the wire strung up between two trees, I can get on my step ladder and add or change leaves when I need to.

Yep, it's cheating, just like the Cheater Branch, but it makes Otis proud of me!

Regards!

^ Wow!!! The details in those photos are mind blowing!

This is kind of funny, but I haven't really seen any K-3 photos that have blown me away yet. I have seen some very good ones, but not like on the level that I see on this thread. Is it that a lot of K-5IIs owners have had more time to play with the K-5IIs vs. the K-3 owners playing around with their K-3/K-3II? Hmmm.....

Three part response:

1. fs999 is obviously an accomplished photographer. He used impeccable technique and likely employed a tripod.

2. fs999 used some of the best lenses for these photos (DA 55mm f/1.4, Sigma 18-35mm).

3. I've owned K5IIs, K3, and K3II. I prefer the K5IIs because of the IQ that it's sensor produces. For ergonomics, buttons, auto-focus, controls, menus, features, and bells and whistles, I prefer the K3II. But for me, IQ trumps all else...

^ Indeed. fs999 has the skills.

LeRolls on the K-3 picture thread has some really nice shots of models. Those are probably some of the nicest pictures in that thread, but I don't know how much post processing went into them. They are very crisp & clear & the color is spot on. I'm pretty sure he's using some really good lenses as well & he obviously has very good photography skills too, but he's one of the very few photographers that seems to be able to extract the most out of the K-3. All the other photos in that thread look great, but they don't seem to be at the same level that I'm seeing in this thread.

I only use a tripod for long exposures. Even most of my DRIs are handheld

Don't forget the DA* 50-135mm, the DA* 200mm, the Soligor 20mm and all the DA Limiteds

I was fine, i'm a country boy I have seen what lightning can do. Though there were several bolts of lightning that went off overhead at low altitude which made thunder cracks that were so loud my ears rang and made the ground shake. I could also pick up the distinctly sharp scent of ozone.

Thanks FS! He doesn't...of course. Those are all superb FS, some of your best yet...excepting those noodles...Otis doesn't care much for noodles. #1-#4-#7 are spectacular, but the little yellow birdie steals the show...even Otis loves it, and you know how he is about birdies!

I would agree 100%...he is one of the finest shooters on PForums. Otis agrees, but adds that FS "cheats". I can't get him to explain that, but he sticks to it? Somehow, in Otis' twisted mind, you can't be superior unless you cheat.

At any rate....he gets another Otis approval!

Great shot...wickedly impressive!

Nothing impressive here...just the usual morning war between the Jays and the Squirrels....Jays won this morning, getting 18 of the 24 peanuts I put out on the cedar fence. They ganged up on the squirrels and had two Jays swooping down and pecking at the squirrels while two other Jays robbed the bounty. Jays are smart birds!

"We're gonna win today!"

"I'm doin' my best, but those damn Jays are too fast!"

In between the wars I shot this little female Cardinal on the Cheater Branch with the new background leaves. I shot at ISO 1600 and still had to push it two stops, so it is kinda noisy, but I do love the bokeh! She is lovely! She desereves a better shot...next time!

Regards!

Looks like a bird hunter got a direct hit on this little dove but she survived it. I could never shoot one, and the little breasts are barely a bite anyhow......If it was Otis will take away his guns.
