way to lock menus?

hello All,

I had a few days off, and was walking in Fez medina with my K5 hanging on my neck.

I must have pressed the white balance button, maybe bouncing the camera, and had a whole row of shoots with a wrong setting.

Because I shoot raw, I fixed the WB when I got home, however it made me wonder if there is a way to lock down the menus.

It seems too easy to mess up the settings inadvertently.

thanks for reading,
and Happy New Year to All of you,

-Gian

I don't think there's a way to do so directly, but you can try using the user modes, which are harder to change.

Hi Gian,

The best way I've found to do what I think you want is to set up the "Memory" in Tab 5 of the "Record" Menu, then make a habit of turning the power off between shooting sequences. In this case, if you leave the WB box unchecked, when you change your default WB setting, it will revert back to your default when the camera is turned off, then back on again. This doesn't work for everything, but in this case, it would have.

The best is to switch off when you are walking. The battery last longer and your buttons are locked
