K5 vs Nikon D7000 prices

Have you noticed that the used prices on the K-5 hold up quite nicely to the Nikon D7000?

Not at retail, no. When I was checking out D7000s a couple months ago they were going for $400+ more than K-5s at retail.

I think we need some numbers, k-5 used, D7000 used, k-5 new, d7000 new. What does "holding up" mean in this context?

By holding up, I mean that Pentax K-5's used prices are holding up to the D7000.

I guess the OP means that the D7000 is currently priced at 900 dollars body, but the used bodies are selling for 600-ish, while the Pentax K5 is selling for 750 new and the used bodies are selling for 600 ish as well.

Not sure what to make of it. Initially the K5 was priced a lot higher new than the D7000, although it is currently selling for quite a bit less new (probably mostly clearing out old stock, while the D7000 is still a current Nikon model).

Thanks for the explanation, it was somewhat confusing reading the first couple of posts.

I think that may also be that the D7000 goes on sale (down to $750 etc) more often, while the k-5 is settling at that price point.
