USB cable for K5

Anybody knows which type of USB cable the K5 uses? I lost the original.

I'd order a long one from Monoprice.com to setup my tethering.

I-usb33 I believe is the actual pentax cable code. but I'm not sure what the difference between 7 and 33 is. The form factor is identical

It's just a usb cable...the fact that Pentax wants $25 for one is a joke.

I don't think this is correct. The "micro" usb that is used on most smart phones, blackberry, kindle, etc is not the same as the Pentax port which seems to be a non-standard usb port.

Amazon sell the Pentax I - USB17 cable for K20 at ...http://www.amazon.com/Pentax-I-USBI7-Interface-Cable-IST-DS/dp/B0006SKK56/ref=pd_cp_p_3 and then also for K20 at http://www.amazon.com/USB-Cable-Pentax-Digital-K100D/dp/B003DQZLAC/ref=pd_cp_pc_0.

Suspect all the Pentax usb ports are the same.

It should be fine.

I believe this is the cable...

For only $1.26 each when QTY 50+ purchased - 10ft USB 2.0 A Male to Mini-B 5pin Male 28/24AWG Cable w/ Ferrite Core (Gold Plated) - WHITE | USB 2.0 Cables - Mini-B 5pin Type

Mini-B not Micro-B, sorry.

The port on the K-5 is exactly the same as the port on my Panasonic FZ5. I even use the micro usb to av cable that came with the FZ5.

No.....that url is a Mini-B which is even bigger than micro-usb plug standard. Mini was common on PDA and cameras a few years ago, but most devices seem to have micro-B these days
From left to right: Mini-B; Micro-B; Pentax-I. Sadly, I cannot find any definitive reference for what the Pentax usb port is.

This one will work...

For only $1.29 each when QTY 50+ purchased - 6ft A to Mini-B 8pin USB Cable w/ ferrites for Pentax Panasonic Nikon Digital Camera | USB 2.0 Cables - Mini-B 8pin Type

The mistake I made was counting the pins. The B connector is an 8 pin type with the power pins removed. The 8pin Mini-B, as Kevin has pointed out, uses a 4mm connector instead of the 7mm connector.

That one is on backorder, this one is available now.
