Lucky you - Pentax is just around the corner in Denver CO. I had to deal with the local disrtibuter for few weeks to get my firest body fixed - and I got my new one almost a month before the end of the warranty. Got my K-5 as the K-100 when travelling to Tokyo so I had to wait for a solution from the Firmware side.. I just hope it will help - I am travelling to South africa for business in 2 weeks - its summer over there - I hope it will not start making this noise that lets you know that its box has its own game now..
Repair center is actually in Arizona, but anyway it is a lot easier than some places, yes.

People are reporting on DPR definite focus improvements under certain lighting conditions. Will await more testing...

I confirm and it's a big improvement in my case.
I took some test shots whith my FA-50/1.4 wide open, indoor, dim tungsten light and the difference was big.No doubts at all.
Though the fact that some people didn't benefit from the upgrade makes me kind of skeptical ....but not regarding the general AF improvement of my K5 which is so obvious in my case.
Could be that some K5s are focusing better than others so they benefit less ?don't know.

That's interesting. I think to be somewhat valid, people should also include what lenses they are using and seeing improvement with. I think people are really bad in this regard, speaking often about negatives of a camera, but not expressing such very important things like the lens in use. Not all lenses focus the same.

So far, I've only used my K5 1.14 with my Tamron 17-50 and F50 1.7. I don't really notice any difference, especially in the case of the latter, which is blazingly fast anyhow. No difference in accuracy yet. My most used, but most inaccurate lens is my FA35 (prone to FF in low light) is the one I'm hoping I'll see a difference with.

Has anyone else noticed AF fine adjust changes? With my DA15, DA35ltd and DA70 on 1.13 I only needed adjusting for the DA35ltd and it was +10. After loading 1.14 and re-checking I now am getting DA15 +2, DA35ltd +3 and DA70 +3. I use the Moire interface pattern (linked here) Using Moire' Interference Patterns to Test DSLR Auto Focus method by adjusting the fine adjust until the pattern is as clearly sharp when auto focused as when manually focused using live view at X10. Anyhow I have heard folks mention on here about the offset or something changing and I believe it affects this adjustment. Let me know if others notice it or if I just needed to adjust lenses better the first time.

Noticed AF better in low light (with Tamron 18-250) Unfortunately the mirror flop - stays the same. full charge + temp over 25C = mirror flop :-(

Still the massive FF with the FA35 in dark conditions is still there. We're talking, in some places, 1.3 meters of front focus from 9 feet away. Same as before?

I wonder.

Took my Sigma 18-50 2.8-4.5 and Tamron 70-200 2.8 lens out tonight with my K-5. I had to shoot an event for a local charity. No issues whatsoever with the Sigma (rather quick and snappy to lock on) but my Tamron was abysmal under low-light. I almost never have a problem with it locking on. It was pretty bad so I may have to do some more testing tomorrow. I have not had an issue like this before, but first I will have to clean the contacts on the camera and then the lens.

Anyone else has EV markers gone from their top LCD after the update? The markers are gone on mine unless I press the exposure button, which still allows me to adjust it properly but as soon as I press it again the display for the markers is gone.

Have you enabled horizontal level display (or whatever the function is called)?
