i love my new k5 but what to do with my k10

So i just got a k5 yesterday wow what a difference from the k10 I'm a bit confused but ill get the hang of it the new menu and different options that i didn't have before are just great i love my new k5. Now what to do with the k10 it's got like 20,000 clicks and a little beat up but in fair condition i have a 3rd party grip and an extra battery for it. I am thinking of trading it for a lens I'm thinking of a f2.8 zoom that is if some one is willing to trade? so if anyone got any good ideas what i should do with the k10 let me know thanks.

You could sell it here or send it off to KEH.

I kept mine for a backup as well as for landscapes as I prefer the color rendering from the CCD. Sending it off to KEH/BH/Adorama is always a good option as well

Yes, they will trade after the condition of your equipment is assessed. While they are doing that they will put the item you want to trade for on hold. I bet they would only offer you $100 or so for a camera that age, but for me it saves a lot of hassle.

Keep it!
I think that's the great advantage of the K mount. Keep the old and the new and mix-n-match

Less than $100. You get a 10% bonus for a trade so a trade would be around $100, but it has to be $100 before they will do a deal so you would have to throw in the kit lens.

Donate it to Goodwill and take a $200 tax write off. (That's what KEH sells them for).

I say, gift it to a younger family member that is interested in photography.

You can sell it on the marketplace for much more than you'd get from a trade-in. I'd go ahead and do that personally, and maybe pick up a K-01 as a backup.

That's exactly what I did when I replaced the K10 with a K20, and then again when I picked up the K5. My daughter was quite thrilled with getting the K20.

Agree!

There are always people that could use a great camera!

I have an entire "family-hand-me-down-schedule" when it comes to cameras!

I just gave my K20D to my sister. She took lots of courses in black and white so she could work in various darkrooms when she was younger. I'm sure she'll make good use of it. I never thought I'd part with it, but we have 2 K-5s now and we're picking up one of those cheap K-01s to use as a back up, and i can still visit it when I miss it.
