Can you guys help me out? Can I use my yongnuo 560II on my K-5II using manual mode "M" instead of "X"? I used it 2 weeks ago but I found out that my flash misfired after some shots despite using a 1/160peed. I started using the "X" setting and at times the flash misfired. I removed the flash and mounted it again and the flash would start working. Is there something wrong with my camera? Did I burn my flash connections by using "M" instead of "X". Thanks

Using 'M' instead of 'X' wouldn't damage the flash. See this thread for similar problems with the earlier versions of the YN-560.

I know I'm going to sound stupid but will the YN-560 III (or the YN-560 II) just fit straight onto my Pentax K-20D?

Having done research around there are dedicated pentax flashes and these type that use the generic hotshoe. What difference does this make?

I know what I'm doing with flashes so I'm not put off by it being manual, but just can't seem to find anywhere any info on if this gun will talk to the camera or not, and what the benefit of getting a dedicated (and more expensive) Pentax flashgun would be.

Yes, it will.

Dedicated flashes support P-TTL (automatic exposure) and potentially extras like second-curtain sync and/or HSS (high speed sync). You may also get a display about how far the flash will reach given the current settings and the flash's zoom will change according to changes to a zoom lens.

The YN60-II(I) is not available with Pentax dedication so you can only set the power manually and fire shots.

No indication of price or availability yet, but at least there is more than a rumour now.

The trigger appears to be much less versatile than the Cactus V6 but anyone who owns a couple of YN-560 III should be excited.

If I were you, I'd get the YN560-TX trigger since it allows one to remote control the power level as well.

I have got a K-500. Is there any problem, issue, disadvantage using the 560III? Is there any significant difference between 560ii and iii? Talking about use them on a K-500.

the only difference between them is that the iii has an integrated RF receiver....
this is very useful if you want to use the flash off camera...
my recommendation is to buy the iii, you'll definitely want to try off camera flash some time.
