Good deal on new K-5 in Australia

For anyone who's still interested in the 'old' K-5, and particularly for those in Australia, check out this ebay link. Pentax K-5 16.3 MP Digital SLR Camera with 18-55mm WR Lens | eBay

K-5/18-55WR kit for A$715 with full Aussie warranty. The seller is listed as a supplier of surveying equipment, however the Paypal confirmation email shows a CR Kennedy email address. So, it would appear as if the Australian agent is using this as a means to clear some stock. I'm certainly not complaining and have a K-5 on its way to me.

Yep, I bought a Sigma 70-200mm f/2.8 EX DG APO Macro HSM II Lens here last year. Great price. Packaging was a bit knocked about, I guessed it might have been gear they could not sell in store. Anyway no complaints from me. Wish I could justify the K5

Thanks very much. Bought one. What will my wife say?!

I hope it arrives by Friday - I'm off to Tassie on Friday arvo (annual Stromtrooper motorbike get-together and 43rd wedding anniversary) - otherwise it's my Q or *istD for my holiday.

My K-7 is down at CR Kennedy's for repair (infamous green line problem).

My K-7 arrived back today. I might get the K-5 tomorrow.

My wife says no more lenses or cameras until I get rid of some stuff.

K-5 just arrived.

Melbourne to Perth within 24 hours, so p38arover, I'd say that bodes very well for you getting yours by Friday. As suspected, invoice is from C.R. Kennedy, so it's come direct from the Aussie distributor. Should have no problems with any warranty issues there!

I was wondering if you had received yours. Mine isn't here yet. I was hoping that it would be for this weekend's Barry Sheene Festival of Speed. The Barry Sheene Festival of Speed | Official Website

Hi mate. See my previous post. I ordered it Tuesday morning and it received it Wednesday morning. Considering I'm in Perth and it came from Melbourne I was blown away by the speed of the delivery.

I emailed CR Kennedy this afternoon and they can't find any record of the transaction even though eBay shows it as having been shipped. Maybe Monday - Tuesday morn latest as we're off on holiday - our 43rd wedding anniversary departure had to be delayed, my wife broke her ankle during the week.

2 days ago I bought a K-01 for $299.95 at Ted's in Adelaide. I love it. People who hate it don't know what they're missing.

That's great to hear Steve. I've been loving my K-01 for over a year now.

I only have 2 Pentax lenses these days but I plan to rectify that ASAP. I want a DA40 for starters... ..it's a pity they don't make a compact DA Limited zoom though.

Woo hoo. Enjoy.

I used mine in combination with my K20D on the weekend for shooting a sporting event. Was impressed by the K-5 AF. I still prefer the size/weight of the K20D when using heavy lenses, but with a battery grip fitted the K-5 was nicely enough balanced with my DA* 300/4 or Sigma 70-200/2.8.

I'm also interested in the AF. I used the K-7 on Sunday for motorbike races at Easter Creek.

I'm at the airport awaiting a flight to Tassie. I hope it will get good use over the next week. I'll read the manual on the plane.

I have the Q as backup!
