New Pentaxian here (K-5II photos)

I recently bought a K-5II, Tamron 17-50, Sigma 30 and Tamron 70-200 (which should be here Saturday). For the past year I have been using a Sony Nex 7 and in Dec. bought a D600 when Nikon dropped the kit to $2000. I fought with the D600 and all of it's oil/dust issue for about a month before selling it for the Pentax. I don't regret it one bit. The D600 files might be a tad better than the K-5 but I'm not a Pixel Peeper and the Pentax files look great. I find that the K-5 produces better skin tones and textures to me. I also find WB to be much better on the K-5II. Anyway, here are some photos from the French Quarter in New Orleans and a recent Disneyworld trip that we took last month.

You are a good photographer, nice shots, you are most welcome here. I'd heard about the oily sensor, but I didn't realize it was so bad. Is Nikon doing anything about it?

Nice purchase (and nice photos) - looks like you're putting together a good kit straight-away! Also, enjoy the fact that you'll have SR that's effective on every lens, down to somewhere between 1/13s and 1/6s.

Thank ya'll! Yes, the D600 problem with the oil splatter was that bad. I cleaned the sensor 4 times in one month with Eclipse and sensor swabs. Nikon just admitted the problem with no clear fix right now. My D600 also had a freezing problem when reviewing photos on the LCD. Its not built nearly as good as the K-5.

I love having SR in the body, that's something I've really been missing for a long time.

Here's a few more shots.

My friend has one, but he mostly leaves his 24-70 on it. Hopefully not changing lenses will keep the dust away. I'll have to tell him to be mindful of it and look for the resolution from Nikon.

I didnt change lenses much. I was using the 50 the most. The dust is coming from the shutter mechanism.

Thanks! I'm glad I'm not the only Pentaxian here who likes Dis. We go every year and I had a blast this past trip with the K-5II.
