Get a longer lens!!!

Seriously. If you are serious about photographing wildlife you need either a longer lens or an f2.8 or faster 200 to 300mm lens.

If you try to make your 70-300, which will be f5.6 at the long end, work with a 2x teleconverter you will end up with a 600mm f11 lens. This will be getting quite dark to focus manually and your auto focus will have difficulty at the f11 light level.

Regards

Chris

The viewfinder does not appreciably dim with a tele converter, it is still open aperture.

If you are using a split prism focusing screen you will get blackout...

You will get better results cropping the image, if 16 megapixels isn't enough to crop, wait until Pentax releases a 24 megapixel camera.
