K5II Photos numbers start

I have just got a new k5II and I notice the photo numbers start at 6408 in stead of 0 is this normal the folder numbers start normal. my k20D and kx all started at 0

The filename is linked with your card. When did you last format it?

You want to look at the shutter count, Open one of photographs with an EXIF viewer, like Photome ( and search for shutter count. That is the number of shots taken with your camera. Even new camera will have a none zero shutter count because of the QA in factory.
