Have you ever wondered what the K-5 shutter looks like? I got the recipe!
Low battery, continuous AF, hi-speed shooting (bursting) and high shutter speed makes the shutter lock and the back LCD to go black. Buttons don't react incl on/off, the top LCD stays on and SR is engaged. Pulling the battery jumps the shutter bit and shows a lever and replacing the battery resets the camera to regular condition.
It's nothing wrong with the camera, just a depleted battery and some fun experimented to see the shutter in action. It's interesting how it stays in one position when first locking up and a second one when pulling the battery.
