K5 and DFA100wr weather sealing capability

I am not looking for an underwater stunt, but I am just curious how well this combination, K5 and DFA100wr can withstand water?

Anyone has ever used this combination in the rain? if so, into what extent? for how long?
Can it stand rain in tropical climate country in Southeast Asia?

for example,
. that is too extreme?
well, anyone taking photo under that kind of rain must be crazy anyway.
but please share if you did and somehow your camera survive!

The Weather Sealing of the camera and lens is NOT 100% water tight, especially when combined with strong winds, which could drive water in.

I'd be putting a weather proof covering, from Think Tank Photo (or similar) on this combination.

If you just had to get "The Shot" and were prepared to risk the camera and/or lens, then go for it. Otherwise put some extra protection on.

Regards

Chris

It is meant to be used in rain. I have the same camera and lens but have used the K5 and DA*16-50 more than the DFA100WR in rain as I have not had a need to shot with the 100WR in rain as yet.

yeah, I saw those pages before. the dust and water test video is incredible. and CRPhoto's under water shot is insane!
but it doesn't look like they use DFA100wr. Can I assume that the DFA wr sealing is up to the same level with DA*?
I would test my unit before the warranty is out but Pentax warranty doesn't cover water/moisture damage. I understand that they have no way to proof how moisture get inside the camera.

I've used mine in light to medium rain for around 40 minutes mounted on a tripod with no issues. I've had it close to a yard sprinkled before too but that was just a couple minutes with light spray.
