I recommend getting IIs (if you can).

Moire thing is oversaturated, you won't notice it 99% of the time.
If you're using this primarily for weddings, I would advise AGAINST the K-5iis. You'll be photographing drapes and such in the background; you'll be photog'ing A LOT of fabrics. It only makes sense, then, that the chances/probability of moire will increase. And if you catch that perfect moment but it's ruined by moire, you'll be kicking yourself.

There is truth in your words. BUT in my humble experience, I've found that unless the light is really harsh, moire isn't noticeable.
Also moire is fixable.

I totally agree about the photographer's capabilities and it is quite sure that I will be tested on that. And not my gear !

But it's quite good to know that my gear gives me certain opportunities and helps my work. From what I see, there is no serious reason not to use a K5 or K5II professionally.

Wedding With K-5

Been using Pentax for weddings since January and haven't had any issues. I would say the mark 2 does give me better results.

In fact for fun if you go to my gallery page can you identify which images were taken by a Pentax and which with a Canon 5D Mk2?

As a clue there are 10 images on there since I went Pentax.

I use a K5 and a IIs for weddings and I shoot at least two of them a month. They work great. The moire thing has really not been an issue, despite all of the fabrics. The improve AF is really great at receptions.
