I have the Pentax 12-24 and think it ideal for me. There are some shots on my Flickr site. The Elk River set were all taken with the 12-24.

I'm quite fond of my Sigma 8-16. Here it is a 8mm in eastern Oregon:

Here it is at 16mm in the tide pools of Depoe Bay:

I own the Bower 8mm fisheye (also known as the Samyang, etc).

I really do enjoy it. Set it at f11 or higher, focus to infinity, and go have fun.

Some examples below from the first week I had it and was just experimenting. The two of the tender show after and before applying lens correction.

Lovely shots. Really like the dog and pole shots! Must admit I'm keen to get one of these lenses at some stage. But still would not want to be without my 10-20mm.

Morning Kev,

Yes, both types of lenses complement each other in their use. I will say that the normal lens is much more useful than the fisheye for most situations. You can overdose on the fisheye - as in overuse it. It really is a specialty lens. Fisheye lenses can be defished, however to use it and defish it effectively, you need to understand what you are going to end up with as a result, and compose / frame the image properly. This link provides a good overview of what I am referring to:It has taken me a number of years to acquire the lenses that I have. It did not happen overnight.

Hope that helps....
