So, I emailed customer service at wex. Hopefully, they will offer a warranty repair. I know the UK service center already, from back when the lens release button dropped off (I really AM happy with my k-5, but sometimes I wonder why exactly. Right, yes, it takes excellent pictures when it doesn't fall apart!)
Yes, they are technically right - the
warranty is one year, but that doesn't really matter since the consumer protection period in the EU is two years anyway. I have occasionally had shops trying to dismiss my claim with the "one year warranty", but they always give in once I "remind" them of the consumer protection act.
