K5iis Camera not saving whole picture

Does anyone else have this issue? I have no idea what's happening. Out of the 65 shots that I took this only happened once... but it also seems to have happened on two shots a couple of days ago too. Any ideas?

card for 99999.99% problem :P Try to reformat, or use another card to see if problem repeats. Also make sure your battery is fresh and fully charged. I think this will be down to the card problem.

Cheers

There is something wrong with the sensor or the circuity associated with pulling the image from the sensor and moving it to the SD card. I guess it could be the card too. Try a new card and if it happens again - take 100 images in a row to test it. Occurs again, then I would send it to the Pentax repair center, along with the SD card containing the partial images.

Could you have turned the camera off before it had written the data to the card ?

I was about to ask the same question. my k5iis also shows the same problem to a lesser degree, it shows when I download via picassa but is not visible when I view in zoner 14. any thoughts would be appreciated. only had camera a few weeks and everything else seems ok.

Lemme guess: a white and purple band on the right short side?

I heard from few folks about the same problem w/ K-5 IIs ( no aa filter) and also w/K-5 II ( with aa filter). Hopefully it's either some firmware bug ( when Pentax tweaked K-5 firmware to accommodate upgraded AF driver) or some hardware incompatibility of new K-5 models related to SDHC cards. There's an old saying: "if it works, don't fix it" ( it's about K-5's upgrades). Just sayin'.
