K-5 or k-5ll?

I'm thinking about getting a K5 but I'm a little confused about the differences between the k5 and the k5ll. The new camera is a LOT more expensive here in the UK (nearly 200) so I really need to know what the advantages are in spending the extra cash.
I'm currently using a Sony rx100 and am very pleased with it and am hoping that one of these cameras will be a major jump up from that!
Any advice would be gratefully appreciated.

Either will be a big change. They use the same sensor and image processor so in general the IQ is the same. It is exactly the same body so the handling is the same. The k-5II has some improvements in the autofocus system particularly in low light situations. Many users complained about the K-5 AF in low tungsten light, I never had any problems but I don't shoot in those conditions. If you do then the K-5II might be worth the extra but for general photography in average light I would go with the K-5 and put the money toward the 18-135mm lens.

It's hard not to recommend the original K5 given the steep discounts available for new or even more for used.
I don't have direct experience with the K5II but the K5 has been very good for my uses.

How much can you get each one for? If considering reselling value, AF and better LCD... Id be tempted to take the newest one depending on how much more... Do you have any lenses or plan to get one? You certainly want to skip the kit lens if coming from an RX100.

Hey mate!

Do you have friends in France. If yes, you can ask someone to book a K-5II at Darty. It is just 649 Euros I picked up mine today (With 18-55 mm lens).

I had the same doubt. After reading many many reviews about K-5 and personal thoughts and people's recommendation to me I got the K-5 II.

But K-5 is pretty cheap (Not necessarily the small tiny hickups you will face here and there and then curse yourself you wish you had gotten a Canikon or K-5 II.
