Hi everydaylife, your understanding of a sensor's native ISO setting is correct. Just to expand on your info, the sensor's native ISO is the one requiring the least manipulation during processing of the RAW image, as it gives you the highest image quality.
I don't recall where I read this, but when the camera came out I recall a discussion stating the optimal resolution topped out at the ISO 200 setting, with anything below or above that that (80, 400) involving some software trickery. So you may be right.
But here is another hypothesis based on the Default ISO range which is from 100 - 12800. Note: the Expanded Sensitivity is 80 - 51200. This then means the Sensor's Native Sensitivity is ISO 100.
