Shutter count 9

Well I debated wait for the K3 ? Wait for full frame ? (actually I have no burning desire for FF) Switch systems ? Go Mirror-less ? Find a new hobby I have owned the K5 iIs for about 12 hours. Heading out this weekend to test her out. . (Camera Shown is the K5 now regulated to second fiddle ) We all have to remember for most of us It's a hobby not an addiction or primal need, The K5 served me well for over 2 years (shutter count just over 21k) , expect the same or more from K5 iis (unless I find myself in another weak moment in a camera shop )Amortize the cost over the total pleasure = justification . -in case you are looking for a reason

Congrats!

But I do not need a new camera. So there.

Well, seriously, the K-5 is all the camera I need, and then some. For now I concentrate on new lenses instead - purely for joy, really

I second this. It looks that AF flaw in K-5 has been fixed with fw. v. 1.15. There's no reason for me now to switch to K-5II/IIs. Good ol' K-5 is all I need in DSLR dept.

What AF flaw did you experience in the K-5? I just did update the firmware to 1.15 but did not notice anything significant. I am in agreement with you all that upgrade to K-5IIs would be worthwhile (likely after the new model comes out later in the year) as I need a second body to use all my m42 lenses.

I just shot a night-time gig with the K-5, v1.15 firmware, and the same lens I used earlier in the week to shoot a similar gig. I didn't notice any AF performance difference.

I wasn't looking for any differences. Maybe I should have been more vigilant.
