Will you replace your K5 series with the new flagship?

With the announcement of a new flagship right around the corner, or so we are lead to believe, the question has to be asked... are you going to be getting the new camera? And if you are, is it going to accompany your K5, or are you going to be selling/trading your K5 to get the new camera?

I personally love my pair K5 too much to let them go. I know I will buy the new camera outright, and pass down one of the cameras to my niece as an upgrade to her K100D.

For the most part, Pentax equipment is not sold in our household.

Gonna wait and see, possibly wait until K-3 II. Rumored improvements sound nice but I'm sure there will be plenty to polish.

The poll is odd. I do not have a K5. I will not buy a K3 if it's APS-C, though. If FF, then I'd be sorely tempted, although I have more stake in a cheaper 645D. I dislike the DOF and viewfinder of APS-C cameras so will never invest in them. Currently, I work analogue (6x6, Pentax 645).

Hence why it's posted in the K5 forum

My K-01 does some things better than either of my K-5's, but now I have a K-5 IIs the old K-5 only comes along for the ride if I need a second DSLR body. If the new body is any good I will probably replace the K-5 and keep the K-5 IIs (and the K-01).

I voted, but it is a meaningless poll if the new camera is not here with actual performance, specs and price.

Oh, just today I just got a new K-5 to replace the one that died the other day. I'll eventually get the dead one resuscitated, and sell the K-20.

I won't be replacing my K-5 with the new flagship because I have a K-7, not a K-5.

But if the next model has an x-sync speed of 1/250 I will be sorely tempted. Otherwise, I'll stick with the K-7.

How'd it die? I hope it was painless.

Reminding myself that this is still a rumour, I would be:

Keeping my K5.
Selling my K7.
Buying the K3 .... later when the price goes down.

My K-5 IIs is so far still over-producing for most of the requirements I need "right now" so probably not.

Lenses are another thing though. But having two 2.8 zooms for work is already satisfactory enough for most purposes. Now I'm still missing two FA Limiteds... *tries not to think about it, lest initiate LBA again*

I guess I am behind the times here - where are the specs and announcement of this K-3?

Just rumours perpetuating rumours becoming facts by virtue of everyone repeating them. Check the rumours forum section.
