sticky shutter K5

Hi gang

I've had a problem today with my K5.
When I took, or tried to take, a photo, I pressed the shutter as normal, and the camera went click and I felt the mirror go up, but it stayed up?
The shutter speed was set at 100sec so not on long timer..I had to take the batteries out to reset the shutter.

Has anyone else had this trouble.

Cheers

D

Sounds like a defective mirror mechanism.

If it is still under warranty, I wouldn't try to do anything myself, just bring it for repairs.

Good luck

This has been an occasional issue with the k-5. If it only happens rarely I would not worry too much about it. If it starts to happen enough to be annoying the only solution is sending it in for repair. I'm assuming you are no longer under warranty? If you are under warranty then I would make sure it goes in for repair before the warranty runs out.

I had mine fixed for this issue back in August. It started out as once a week or so, but gradually got worse. Eventually sent it in to CRIS for service under warranty and it was fixed, it says they replaced the reflex mirror motor.
