the k-5 offers ISO 80 , though im not sure if it still an advantage over ISO100 in image creaminess and low noise that it used it be a few years ago.
There is a comparison of image quality in the link below , of the k-30 and k-5. Could not find a similar comparison here of the k-50

I think K5 is still slightly better.
Interesting, I had heard the opposite from others on the forum, although they may have been complicated by front focus. Did you have them at the same time?

We are talkign about the original K-5, not the K-5 II (which improved a lot of AF), right?

Lots of auto-focus issues with the K-5. I had a bad one, couldn't focus in tungsten light.

Is that an issue with your specific copy, though? Or inherent in the AF engine? I know the k-5ii had an improved AF capability.

I don't know if it's all, but many IMO. The review on this site talks about it:

The Pentax K-5 was observed to have AF accuracy problems (front and back focus) when shooting in tungsten light. The Pentax K-5 II does not have this issue.
Pentax K-5 II / IIs Review - Autofocus - PentaxForums.com

Tungsten AF accuracy is not a problem with the K-50.

Have you considered the K-5 II or IIs? Pricing is pretty sharp right now. No focus peaking and CDAF is slow, but compared to K-50 a tougher body, better low light AF, better controls, battery grip with AA option.
