Problem with Circular Polarizer filter?

Hi to everybody,

I don't know am I writing this issue to the right section of the forum; if not, please, move it.
I have some kind of problem with Kenko CPL filter (52mm). It seems, when I turn the filter while holding it in the hand, at some point one can see a little line which indicate that the process of making hasn't been finished, within a certain layer, through the end.

Am I going to have a problem with images (I did take a photo towards a blank white wall but couldn't see any failure) or should I change it?

Kind regards.

That looks like a scratch? You should complain, it will degrade your images. You won't see it when shooting against a white wall, but rather when shooting a contrasty subject with highlights.

It's more like there's unfinished part of the layer. Here's video.

Unfinished? Looks like a scratch to me. Anyway, this will hurt your images badly - take a picture with small strong highlights and you should see streaks of light.

I did some tests. Here are three pictures. At first one there is a giant flare and some combination of it just over the mouse. On the second there is one coming from the light (with CPL filter), and on the third one there isn't any filter and, also, no flare.
I'm going to return it.

From the video it looks like a crack. Polarizing filters are a sandwich of various layers, one of them may have cracked. See if you can return it to where ever you got it from for a replacement.

I already contacted the seller and I'm going to return it.

Did you buy it new or used? If its under warranty, I would get it replaced.
Otherwise, it isn't likely to affect IQ directly, but it might cause odd flares or lower overall contrast, or sharpness on one side. But it probably won't make a line across the frame. Still, if you paid good money for a finished new product, you probably want to get a finished new product

A new one. The seller doesn't have anymore of that model so he will refund me.
