That makes sense. I'll have to check the manual for the size of those focus points as a lot of gripes about the K-5 were that it's focus points are the size of a barn.
I'm not sure if the size of the focus points changed - I never read anything about that. What I do know however is how much more desisisve the focusing is on the IIs compared to the K-5. Here is an example of how accurate it can be. Shot with the DA* 60-250 - first one at 60mm - second at 250mm standing in the same spot - hand held. My K-5 would have never been able to pull this off.....

K-3GTI?

Is that a new model?

Made by Volkswagen in conjunction with Pentax?
It is a Golf GTI with Ricoh labels on the side-rockers and dash.

Congratulations!

Nice score, Racer! Best of luck with the new camera, but I'm also happy you're saving the K10D! CCD's are the best. Sometimes.
Seriously, that's exactly the upgrade I would choose, not because I don't admire the K-3, but the last (and best) K-5 series body seems like the end of an era.
Maybe not, but Ricoh can't take much credit for the original design, as seems to be the case with the K-3.
Either way, that's a great body, hope to see lots of great (car?) shots soon.

Now you need to upgrade your whole line of lenses to fulfil the potential of the IIs
Nah-tah-tall! The neat thing about the IIs is that it gives old lenses a new lease on life.

Definitely a difficult focusing situation.

Question is, did you take the trophy home and fill the freezer?

Yah, sorry But, make no mistake, I'm always in favor of buying lenses--as in, "Oh, look, it's a cloudy morning--I guess I'll buy a lens!"

I think you might have some more examples that shouldn't be mentioned!

Well here's an example of what I mean about the K-5IIs bringing out the best in old lenses--in this case, the Adaptall SP 300/5.6 (54B)
