Originally posted by Racer X 69 The parcel was supposedly delayed by the "bad" weather in Illinois for 3 days. The thing is, I was within 15 miles of the UPS hub in Chicago last Thursday and although it was about 15 degrees out, the weather was sunny.
Frustrating, ain't it. The only thing worse is when YOU can't "get out of Chicago" due to bad weather when as any fool can plainly see there's not a cloud in the sky. What's not so obvious is ya can't see that the wagon you were supposed to ride out of town on is weathered in at its last stop on the East Coast a thousand miles away. As UPS sez, "It's all in the Logistics".
One of the finest examples of unseen weather consequences was on the day Denver's hub at DIA opened with multiple simultaneous instrument approaches and departures (versus the one-at-a-time cue at Stapleton)
both airline AND package delays were noticeably and permanently reduced at
every major airport across the nation and internationally as well.
(Chain 'em up! But, but . . . It's 60 deg. and sunny just 100 miles west of here in Seattle.)
