Pentax k5ii lens release button

So I'll be purchasing a k5ii very soon. What made me shun the k5 were all those reported incidents with the lens release button coming off. If it really was an extensive problem, I would assume that it was addressed in the case of k5ii. But I'll ask, just to be on the safe side: people here with the lens release button off on the k5ii?

I have a later model K5 (Ricoh sticker) and change lenses very often, no problems after about 1.5 years. I believe it was only a problem on earlier bodies.

I bought my k-5 in late 2011 and I never had the lens release button problem as experienced by some of the early adopters; and I have not seen similar complaint on the k-5II/s either. I think the risk of getting that problem is rather low based on just my observation, of course, just IMO. By the way, I don't have the problem with my k-5IIs either.

No issues with my K-5 II.

I cannot recall having read anything about K-5 II related "lens release button"-incidents either (in contrast to the K-5 which produced a lot of user reports).

I think there is no reason to worry about, I had no issues with my K-5 from 2011 as well as with my current K-5II from June 2013, solid workmanship!

Greetings, Sascha

Already using a ladies' hairpin for 6 months since I lost my release button somewhere in Bulgaria.
Extremely unreasonable price (over USD 150 + shipping) for this repair work in Russia (yet nothing is guaranteed)
Now hoping to get this fixed in June in Zagreb, Croatia, where I found the experienced repair expert Mario.

My K5 button shot off somewhere in DC. I used a paperclip for several months (really annoying) til I got someone from Pentax to send me the parts to repair the button myself. Since then, no problems, but I've been debating covering it with a piece of electrical tape just in case.

I think they may have switched from a plastic cir clip to a metal one after the K5. Haven't seen complaints about the problem with the newer bodies.

I had updated my photographic equipment list a long time ago, but forgot about the signature.

I have turned off the display of signatures so I didn't notice my out of date signature.

Still a proud owner of my K100D but removed the banner now.

Right, no experience with k5ii, but my (Hoya labeled) k5 bought early 2011 has had no problems.

I had this problem with my 2012 K5 last month. Trying now to find a Lego antenna

I think the problem comes when you push the button from the side, when the button is not evenly pushed. I noticed this when it happened, but couldn't find the button back...
