K5 wireless with popup as controller problem.

Setup :
- camera on tripod.
- af540fgz a bit to the left, halfway the camera and the subject, pointing at the subject.
- subject at a few meters.

af540 is set to wireless slave, and no fancy other settings.

The Pentax K5 (firmware 1.16) is set at ISO100, Av, and aperture F8
The lens is a smc-fa 100mm macro.

Then the following tests:

1 : K5 with popup as master, resulting exposure is OK
2 : K5 with popup as control, resulting exposure about 2 stops too dark.
3 : K5 with af360fgz mounted and set as control, resulting exposure OK

When I do the same test with my K10D or k20D, I get a good exposure in all three cases, and control with the popup flash, or camera mounted af360fgz as controller, does not affect the exposure.

Is this a known problem, or is this something introduced with a firmware change ?
