They probably need to run out the K-5II/IIs before they release the K-3II.

Grabbed a K5II back at the 2013 Christmas to replace a 2010 K-5 I sold.
Now with that clearance, I just hope Ricoh/Pentax lower the price of D-BG4 grip, as it's still to much expensive......

I have been thrilled with my K5IIs so far. It has been a real workhorse since I got my hands on it back in December of 2012. It was a huge upgrade from my Samsung GX-10, and I have had a few jobs that would have been impossible to do without it. Imagine trying to surreptitiously shoot a surprise engagement in a dimly lit restaurant (which means no flash can be used). So renting a FA31 along with the K5IIs made that job happen, and the client was thrilled.

While it was expensive for me at the time, it was money very well spent. The moiré has rarely been a problem and easily fixable when present. It may be soon that it is relegated to my backup camera, but it will continue to be a joy to work with for I hope a good long while. If anyone is looking for a deal on a killer camera body, this is a fabulous option IMHO.

Lots of folks dumping theirs they got as part of the package, check the marketplace here.
If the K-5iis is discontinued I am sure they won't be making any more of the BG4.

Crazy how quickly models move.

I'm still learning with the K5IIs and hopefully it will serve me for many years, it replaced my K100d (which still is in great shape and takes wonderful pics).

I'm happy to see all new K5IIs owners getting this amazing camera at such a great price!

Every 2 years it seems.. I'm in no hurry to upgrade camera bodies now. Will probably stick with what I have... even if a digital K mount FF body does launch next year. I figure, if it does actually arrive and is 'good', I can get one of those for landscape work and keep the K-5 II for telephoto duties sometime eventually. But no need to give up the K-5 II.

It needs to be taken into account that the K-5 II/s really are just slight upgrades over the K-5, which was launched in 2010.

I feel the same, and it's the first time since the beginnings of digital photography!

Coming from film cameras, the K-5 II is my 7th digital camera and my 4rd DSLR, and the first which makes me feel like "OK this time I'm there, I'm just as satisfied with the results as I was with film".

What a nice feeling.
