Tracking with K-5 II and DA*300

Hello
I own the K-5 II and recently purchased the DA*300 f4.
Since i dont have experience in long telephoto. (Till now i used only the DA* 50-135 f2,8.)
Can someone explain me how to correct lock and track a fling object ?
What should I avoid and how to correctly set the camera for this.
Any help will be helpful.
Thanks for info.

Use AF.C and multi-point AF and set drive mode to Hi continuous. Turn shake reduction off if you are going to be panning at all. Set the shutter speed to at least 1/1000s. Take lots of pictures, one is bound to be in focus...

There is a setting in the K-5II/K-5IIs to enable focus tracking.

In the menu - first page - go to AF Settings - then you need to check the box for "Expanded Area Focus".

Explained on page 115 of the manual in the gray box.
