K-5 iis resets aperature.

Hello.

When i remove battery and put it back immediately camera resets aperature to F8.0. It is always in Av mode.

And I noticed every now and then resets it itself after 24hours or more.

Is that normal?

I think you always get the default settings (i.e f8) when you remove the battery.

Yes, it resets to F8 when the battery is removed.
No, it does not resets every 24hrs. ( I always have at least 1 fully charged battery in either the body or the grip)

I have a K-5 IIS. When I turn my camera off with the switch, or if I remove a battery, when turned back on it resets to F8 and 125 shutter speed when I am using TAV mode. There is nothing wrong with it, it is just reverting back to a common setting.

One of the world's greatest landscape photographers, Galen Rowell (RIP), had a saying when asked how he took such amazing photographs. He replied "f/8 and be there". If you check out his stuff, you might not be so annoyed at your camera resetting to that aperture. Mountain Light Photography | Galen and Barbara Rowell |
