K7 AF faster than K5 AF ???

Let me explain:

I sent my K5 (along with my DA*16-50) for a much needed cleaning .... control buttons, dials, sensor, prism, mirror ... etc. So I am using my old K7 in the meantime.
Surprisingly, the AF with the DA*300/4 on the K7 seems quite a bit quicker !
Really, it does "grab" the subject faster and doesn't hunt as much .... even in less than ideal light conditions.

I am now wondering if this is due because the K5 was so "dirty" that it made the AF slower or is it because the K7 really is faster. I doubt very much that this would be the case and I posted this in case someone would have an idea why this is.

Thanks!

JP

So we will assume :
The camera (K5 being cleaned) is so full of "junk" that it impairs the AF !!

This above is what I'd like to know, if anyone has an idea.

Jpzk, is there any possibility your K-5 is not calibrated to the DA*300?
BF/FF can definitely slow the AF acquisition.

Thanks for the reply. That's what my question was all about.

Well, the K5 is out for cleaning and I won't get it back for one week.
So I cannot really check that.
One the other hand, the pictures are always "bang on", save for some AF hunting, more so than what I found with the K7 (surprisingly).

Since the pictures are very sharp 90 % of the time (K5 and DA*300/4), what else can be done? How do you calibrate body-lens? Would it need to be done?

Cheers!

JP

It's possible that you just thought your K-7 was slow, then got positively surprised that it wasn't
