K5 still holding its own in noise dept for long exposures

The updated database Brendan Davey keeps of sensor noise on long exposures makes interesting reading. He tests various Nikon, Canon, Sony and other DSLR cameras with just the lens cap on, at 1 sec, 30 secs and 300 secs. Guess what comes in at number two at 300 secs? The K-5, ahead of the K-1, which is in 3rd spot among the 36 models tested. At 1 sec the K5 is 8th (k1 is 12th) and at 30 secs k5 is 4th and K1 is ranked 8th best.

That 16mp Sony sensor is sweet. There is a reason that Pentax wouldn't move to 20 or 24 for a while.
