K5 II or K5 IIs on Trip?

I suspect this is kind of an inane question, but here goes.

I'll be in Barcelona next week and want to travel light, one body. I may take the K-01 as back-up.

With security and other travel related issues which would you take? Maybe it's a push.

I would take only the K5 IIs. It is the best one of the 3 and you do not want to have too many things while travelling.

Barcelona is a great city for photography--notably the Gaudi buildings/park, the large meat/produce market, etc. but petty theft on the street was a potential problem, so just watch your stuff and don't get distracted.

I would probably take a 15mm, 20-40mm, and 55-300mm IF I thought I would have time to play with telephoto, otherwise, I would replace this with my 50mm 1.8 or the 35mm 2.4 just for low light situations.

Kinda up to you depending on what you have available. I think travel calls for a 15, 20, and 50mm (24, 35, and 60-80mm equivilant).

If it where me I'd take the IIs and 18-135, then mount the 43 on the K-01 and leave the 50 behind. 12-24 is optional if you still have space or if you plan on indoor (Cathedral) shots.

If you have these lenses, they will do fine. I much prefer the limiteds or DA* lenses. I use a 20-40 limited, I get WR and Limited glass. Obviously, you may not have this lens, so go with what you have. I think 1 camera is enough. I wouldn't carry a second, you are NOT a reporter, you are a vacationer.

I have the 31, 40, 43, and 77 Limiteds.

My one plan was to leave the 40 on the K-01 where it is now if took it, and then just the 18-135, and maybe 12-24. The K-01 can be a fun change of pace, but still I want to travel simply.

Simplicity is key to travel. I would take the 18-135 and the 40 or the 43. This is a light weight kit and you can always go for the prime when light is low. I wouldn't take the 12-24, but if you don't mind carrying the extra weight, go for it. I think you should keep the k-01 at home.

I just went by what gear the OP listed originally. I do have DA* and limited lenses, as well as the 18-135 which I would prefer for traveling as opposed to a big and bulky 16-50. I do take two bodies when on vacation but I usually don’t carry them around at the same time especially with the kids. I take the K-01 with a DA40 limited when I need something lighter and somewhat smaller than a K5 for activities like strolling about the city. If I want something even smaller, it will be the iPhone. I don’t have the 20-40 (out of budget), maybe in the future.

I would take one of the K-5 II and 18-135, DA40 (its too small not to take) and DA12-24.
I just got back from 12 Days in Mexico City/Chiapas, I took my K5 II,18-135 and DA40 with me. I used the 18-135 90% of the time,and the DA40 for candids/one handed operation while drinking coffee or eating on the go. i only wished i had something wider for architecture shots.
I promised myself next time I traveled to somewhere similar I would have something wider, hence the Sigma 10-20 I just acquired off the forum.

Thanks everyone, extremely helpful and I really appreciate your experienced-based advice. I'll take my 18-135 and 43, probably the 12-24, even though the 18-135 gets into that range, the 12-24 is just such a good lens and I'll be in a city of extreme architecture and street life.
