Sticky On/Off Switch

My k-5 has a sticky on/off switch, it can be hard to turn, turning it on can get it momentarily stuck on the aperture setting, etc.

My first impulse is a dot of watch oil on it, but I have seen recommendations to just run water over it, have others had this problem and what have they done to fix it?

I had the same problem with my K5. I tried washing with water and it was a little better. Then I used a drop of olive oil and the switch returned to normal operation and has remained working.

1/2 drop of DAWN, rinsing under the kitchen faucet while working the switch worked for me.
