Failed shutter button on my K5ii

Ive just had the top shutter button fail on a shoot on my K5ii. It no longer wants to fire the shutter. Though the shutter will fire via a cable release.. Does anyone know if this is an expensive repair ? Or in this day and age should I just upgrade my camera..?

What lens are you using?
If you have activated CIF Catch In Focus, then the shutter won't fire until the subject is in focus.

^^ This ^^ It happened to me with a used camera I purchased. At first, thought I bought a dud. Change the lens and settings, see if that works.
