Does the K-5 have an Aperture issue ?

Hi all,

K-30 has let me down by failing on me around 8K aperture count over 3.5 years.

Before I go out and get K-5, I just wanted to make sure it doesn't have the same dreaded aperture motor issue.

Thank you in advance,
N

Edit: Answer is a NO

No, the K-5 has shown no evidence of the aperture block failure - certainly none that I've ever heard of. My own K-5, which was due to be retired a year or two ago, keeps giving me sterling service

There is no K-5 aperture issue. If that's what you want to discuss, there is nothing to discuss. The title of this post is in error. "Is there a K-5 aperture issue?" would have been the way to go.

Thank you for the replies, both of them are helpful... sorry for confusing title... I'll try and close the thread or let the mods shut it down

NO need to do that, just be more careful in the future, it will go away on it's own in the meantime. It's not a big deal.

21,000 actuations on my K-30 and never had a problem. I moved up to a K-70 now though but not because of any problems with my K-30. I guess I was lucky.
