Firmware question

is the 1.11v firmware for the k-m the same as the early version firmware 1.11v for the k-5?

My other k-5 has the 1.01v firmware this one currently has 1.16v (had 1.11v before upgrade)

I would not, under any circumstance, attempt to load FW into a camera that it was not meant for!

K-m and K-5 are very different cameras, so they have different firmware.
Firmware works with sensor, chip, buffer, etc. Even K-5II and K-5 use different firmware.
Your camera will not accept a firmware meant for another model. You can maybe trick it, but I would not recommend that. You would be very likely to damage your camera. If you don't care about that, you can do it and tell us how it went

Absolutely not! I doubt the camera would allow you to even try but don't. Even the K-5 and K-5II have different firmware.

I found the fault with my K5 so not thinking of this now. I just figured different models had different file names for their firmware.

The firmwares I have used all have the same file name even for different versions. K-1 v1.3 & v1.4 were both fwdc228b & my K-5 were fwdc209b. If this pattern is true then, yes, the K-m would have a different file name like fwdc201b or whatever.
