K-R release says "October". Anyone know the exact date?

I have looked at all finds of sites and I can only find "October 2010" as the official K-R release date. Has anyone heard a date in October for the release? Thanks, Tim

Kr is expected to be release on October 7 in "regular colors" (black and white models I guess?) in Japan.
ペンタックス、デジタル一眼レフカメラ「K-r」の*売日を10月7日に決定 - デジカメWatch
But then I don't know for Europe or North America.

Furthermore, some rumors say that D7000 release will be very slow (very limited stock during the first weeks/months) because of the lack of Sony Exmor 16Mpxls sensors. So we can expect the same for K5. Maybe that can explain why Pentax is officially keeping the K7 on retail market.

I spoke to B&H, and they said that their distributor didn't have an exact date, but that they did say the k-r would be available before the K-5, and that both would be available by the end of October.

Both the K-R and K-5 are probably still being tweaked and re-tweaked, right up to the last minute......there's probably a target date to hit, but I doubt Hoya knows the exact Ready date either.

It can depend on country, K5 before Kr in japan, Kr before K5 in the US, and who knows in europe according to info on this thread.

Just went to Akihabara tonight and here's the sign they have in Yodobashi. It says the K-r is going to be released October 7 for 74,800 yen (body only), 79,800 (lens kit), and 99,800 yen (W zoom lens kit). Regarding the K-5, it just says "October" but the sales associate I spoke to said it would be coming out sometime between October 18 and October 31. The prices for the K-5 are as follows: 139,800 yen (body only), 154,800 yen (18-55wr lens kit), 189,800 yen (18-135 lens kit). Oh, and you get a 10% discount if you use your yodobashi gold card :-D

I also went to Labi and they said the K-r would be coming out in two weeks and that the K-5 wouldn't be out until next month, so I'm not sure who's right...

Thanks for not only that information, but also that picture. I can't help but notice the 645D sign in the background too

I contacted Pentax chat on the support portal and asked them. I was told that even they (assume CO location) don't know the exact date for the K-R, but have heard "Early October". So, "the horses mouth" doesn't seem to know for certain.

I just checked Adorama, and there is no "out of stock" disclaimer on the K-r. They do show K-5 as out of stock though. I wonder if they really have the K-r.
