The K-X was a newer camera than the K-7. K-7 was also kind of partnership with Samsung.
The K-X use a Sony sensor
K-x has the same software and hardware base as K-7.
K-5 and K-r too.

I see as a new member you choose to make your first comment as a negative one. Mmmmmm, me thinks you maybe a plant.

The photos speak for themselves.
...and besides, we all know Pentax doesn't pay ANYONE to do marketing for them.

+1 on that or a troll

I just joined the forum, this is my first post lol

@Creampuff: How do you find the shutter sound? (sorry if you answered this) Is it what you might consider "loud" or not too bad. Im coming from a Nikon D60. I have a K-r on the way though so it doesn't really matter, very excited! ISO 3200/6400 depending on the shot looks like 800 on my old D60 lol!!

The catch-in focus feature is still only for manual focus lenses though right?

Noise comparison at 100% crop. Default camera settings, no pp or noise reduction done. Click image for larger size.
Please note the images were shot handheld, so the focus and alignment might be a little off but the difference in noise/grain is visible.
After looking at these samples, I would say that my Auto ISO setting on K-r would be 100-1600. ISO3200 already too noisy for me.

Probably enough for a couple of good Dutch beers in Singapore...
- Why do you think they are fake / more fake than other pictures?

Thanks for these images. The K-r high-ISO results look great and probably even exceed the output quality of the K-x.

The march of progress in sensor image quality and digital signal processing continues. Yay!
I just bought a cheap K-x and willing to donate it to my father when I am ready for the K-5, so I am eager to see the K-r (or K-5) compared to K-x!!!
- Next to High-ISO, my main concerns are AF, SR and Dynamic range

I though for sure such a FF would not show much noise at all at that level ... just curious because I know nothing about full frame DSLR's.
Yes it does...
Noise actually starts creeping in at/or around ISO1200 but, it's minimal and usually doesn't make it past basic processing.
