is it worth it to upgrade to the K-r?

So I got a Pentax K-x right now, is it really worth it to upgrade to the Pentax K-r? or just invest my money on lenses right now?

Depends. Is a better LCD, improved AF system, illuminated AF points in the VF, AF assist light and a Li-ion battery worth an extra $300-400 to you? (there are probably a few other improvements I forgot to mention).

If those additional feataures are worth the extra money to you, then I say go for it. If not, then I would invest the extra money in good glass.

edit: I guess it also depends what lenses you currently own. If you don't own any "good glass" yet, then perhaps you should go in that direction for now and upgrade the body later.

thanks for the quick response. I do like the better LCD but aside from that everything else works for me and don't really see it worth that much. I guess I'll invest on good glass for now.

I second the idea to invest in glass. I don't think the kit glass shows the full capabilities of the K-x.

Just for fun... how about an upgrade from the K200D? Go for K-r in the next few months or wait for big price drops on the K-5 in a year or so?

Never had a k-x, but k-r af works happily, screen is great, grip more or less ok, shutter sound is quite loud but somehow not disturbing. On the other hand, if the IQ is tha same, there is no reason to pay more.

You've got the sealed lenses and don't sound like you're in a rush, I'd say wait for the K-5 to get sub $1K - you won't be sorry!
